A big thank you to everyone who helped make Lisa’s social on April 16th such a success. Contrary to what you may have read in the local papers no one person could have put together such a successful endeavor. Josh, Kennedy, Katie and especially Laura put in countless hours of work behind the scenes, as did Mark’s cousin, Debbie Robertson, going door to door to businesses in Winnipeg, requesting donations. Many of Lisa and Mark’s family, neighbours, friends, and friends of friends donated cash, donated prizes to the auctions, sold tickets to the social and volunteered their time running errands and working at the social – the generousity of the community was overwhelming. And Rosser Church’s congregational donation to the cause was the capper in demonstrating community support for Lisa – a lady who has given the congregation and the community so much in time and talent over the years. It was heartwarming to see the community come together for this – truly this was community building in action.
Our continuing outreach to those in need includes a “tin for the bin” collection. There is a box in the Church for your gifts. Donations go to the Stonewall district food bank.
Welcome to all our snowbirds, back safe and sound! Hopefully they will all share some of their adventures with us, in the next newsletter!
Prayers of Concern
For our family members, friends and neighbours in need of spiritual comfort or guidance, for members of agencies who put their lives on the line in service for us, for people in Canada and other countries who live in need or despair, we lift our prayers
