About our church

Both Grosse Isle and Rosser congregations consider their churches to be a place of welcoming and acceptance. We see ourselves making a commitment to fellowship both within our institutional walls and extending into the community. This becomes obvious when community events such as the annual spring dinners and periodic church musicals are hosted by our congregational members. These are just some of the tangible examples of our congregations’ belief of fellowship, ministry through music and promotion of the spirit of the United Church of Canada. We feel the church should have a commitment to our community to be there when we are needed in times of joy as well as sorrow. Our members frequently reach out to others in their times of need and offer the hope and joy so often expressed in God’s word. For this reason of commitment, our congregation members are resilient and are able to adapt well in a changing environment. We want to continue our visibility in the community. Although few in numbers, we want to see a way of reaching out to our community, particularly to our youth and children not just in efforts to “fill the pews”, but to “feed the spirit” of God within our villages.
